Abstract: This project studied several popular localization algorithms on iPhone and, according to the demands, specifically designed it to improve healthcare IT system in hospitals. The challenge of this project was to realize the different localization systems on iPhone and to make balance between its response time and localization accuracy. We implemented three popular localization algorithms, namely nearest neighbor (NN), K-nearest neighbor (KNN), and probability phase, and we compared their performance on iPhone. Furthermore, we also implemented a real-time localization system using the ZigBee technology on iPhone. Thus, the whole system could realize not only self-localization but also others-localization. To fulfill the healthcare needs, we developed an application, which can be used to improve the hospital IT, system. The whole project included three phases. The first phase was to localize iPhone’s position using the received WiFi signal by iPhone, compare and optimize their performances. During the second phase, we implemented a ZigBee RFID localization system and combined it with the WiFi system. Finally, we combined new features of the system with a healthcare IT system. We believe that this application on iPhone can be a useful and advanced application in hospitals.
Improved Channel Estimation with Partial Sparse Constraint for AF Cooperative Communication Systems

Abstract: Accurate channel state information (CSI) is necessary for coherent detection in amplify and forward (AF) broadband cooperative communication systems. Based on the assumption of ordinary sparse channel, efficient sparse channel estimation methods have been investigated in our previous works. However, when the cooperative channel exhibits partial sparse structure rather than ordinary sparsity, our previous method cannot take advantage of the prior information. In this paper, we propose an improved channel estimation method with partial sparse constraint on cooperative channel. At first, we formulate channel estimation as a compressive sensing problem and utilize sparse decomposition theory. Secondly, the cooperative channel is reconstructed by LASSO with partial sparse constraint. Finally, numerical simulations are carried out to confirm the superiority of proposed methods over ordinary sparse channel estimation methods.

Abstract: We derive a priori $C^2$ estimates for a class of complex Monge-Ampere type equations on Hermitian manifolds. As an application we solve the Dirichlet problem for these equations under the assumption of existence of a subsolution; the existence result, as well as the second order boundary estimates, is new even for bounded domains in $\bfC^n$.

Water Quality Evaluation Using Back Propagation Artificial Neural Network Based on Self-Adaptive Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm and Chaos Theory  [PDF]

Abstract: To overcome the shortcomings of the traditional methods of water quality evaluation, in this paper, a novel model combines particle swarm optimization (PSO), chaos theory, self-adaptive strategy and back propagation artificial neural network (BP ANN) that was proposed to evaluate the water quality of Weihe River in China. An improved PSO algorithm with a self-adaptive inertia weight and a chaotic learning factor tuned by logistic function was developed and used to optimize the network parameters of BP ANN. The values of average absolute deviation (AAD), root mean square error of prediction (RMSEP) and squared correlation coefficient are 0.0061, 0.0163 and 0.9903, respectively. Compared with other methods, such as BP ANN, and PSO BP ANN, the proposed model displays optimal prediction performance with high precision and good correlation. The results show that the proposed method has the good prediction ability for evaluating water quality. It is convenient, reliable and high precision, which provides good analysis and evaluation method for water quality.
Erector Spinae Plane Block for Mastectomy and Breast Flap Reconstructive Surgery: A Three Case Series  [PDF]

Abstract: Uncontrolled pain after breast surgery can have early to chronic repercussions. The repertoire of pre-emptive opioid-sparing analgesic options includes regional blocks such as paravertebral blocks to myofascial blocks and more recently the Erector Spinae (ESP) block. Case 1 demonstrates the ESP block as an easy and conveniently performed post-operative rescue block for a patient who still experienced uncontrolled pain despite a combination of myofascial blocks and systemic analgesics. Case 2 and 3 demonstrate the advantage of providing an extensive coverage of surgical field in breast reconstruction surgery covering variable donor sites. It was due to the extent of coverage, that allowed the placement of ESP block catheter distantly without interrupting the surgical site. Post operative prolongation of pain relief was also successful by titrating analgesia via intermittent boluses. In our case series, the ESP block consistently and safely provided satisfactory pain relief for breast reconstruction surgery. It can be a viable option for peri-operative analgesia compared to other more invasive or less extensive alternatives.
The data analysis of regional water resources and economic society coupling system sustainable development

Abstract: Rapid development of economic society benefits the human race,but deteriorates basin environment to a certain extent.At present,the shortage of water resources and the pollution of water environment affect the development of human society,economy and culture seriously.It is very important and necessary to enhance sustainable usage of water resources and ensure sustainable development of economic society.The traditional management theory on complex water environment and resources system understands the integrated management model incorrectly and neglects the fuzziness both in the thought of human being and objective phenomenon.Based on the theory of Engineering Fuzzy Sets suggested by Professor CHEN Shouyu,a new assessing method and its corresponding model for assessing the Liaoning provincial sustainable development degree is proposed and the procedure for calculation is presented in detail. Firstly the paper discusses the relationship of aquatic economy-ecosystem environment-economic coupling system and the sustainable development mode of this coupling system,and brings forward sustainable development degree measuring sustainable development status with fuzzy mathematics subjection degree.Secondly,the paper discusses the sustainable development assessing method of the complex water environment and resources system.The author thinks that the relative membership degree of Fuzzy Sets can be used to describe the sustainable development situation.The paper gives the definition and the calculating method of sustainable development degree.The author studies the sustainable development degree of Liaoning Province,researching the relationship between sustainable development of water resources and economic society,considering the present situation of water resources in Liaoning Province.The result shows the sustainable development ability of water resources is low(the sustainable development degree of water resources in Liaoning Province is 0.2456),and there are some exploring potentials and advancing space.The case study shows that the proposed method is more reasonable and its calculating method is very simple.It can also be used in various assessment fields.The result verifies that the method and its corresponding model are reliable and easy to be used.At the same time,the study can also provide decision-making support for sustainable usage and management of water resources in Liaoning Province.
Preparation of cell adhesive micropores by one

Abstract: Non-conventional electrochemical machining in micro-manufacturing has atomic-scale machining accuracy only in theory. By taking full advantage of the material heterogeneity, the micropores which most easily initiate at the surface stoichiometric inhomogeneities for stainless steel can be prospectively obtained with the size kept under control by adjusting the machining parameters. Taking the economy and efficiency into account, a one-step potentiostatic polarization method was established. Optimization of the machining parameters for achievement of microporous structure required by cell adhesive surface on 304 stainless steel in natural 15?wt% NaNO3 solution was confirmed. Based on the potentiodynamic polarization curve, a DC voltage of 5?V in the region of secondary passivation was selected due to the porous secondary passivation film which results in the initiation of large amounts of pores. The effects of the machining time on the pore size, coverage ratio, density, unevenness degree and adhesive cell density on the porous surface were investigated through statistical analysis. The results show that there is a maximum value of machining time, tm, when the surface has a maximum pore density, and minimum pore unevenness degree. Meanwhile, adhesive cell density increases to significant level at tm then levels off over time. Therefore, this approach has been testified possible through the novel use of material microdefects and electrochemical machining to obtain cell adhesive micropores
